Hidden Starfish was founded in 2017 when I was a Freshman in college. I was committed to creating a jewelry company that was environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable. I found a casting company in New York City that casted jewelry in New York City from recycled metals; therefor, I could I could ensure my jewelry was ethically made. I decided to donate 10% of proceeds from my jewelry to benefit the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation for mental health research grants. My long-term goal for this company is to spread mental health awareness and stop the stigma. I hope one day that when someone sees another person wearing Hidden Starfish; they will know they are not alone with their struggles, and be reminded, "Resilience paves the pathway to success."
